Sometimes it felt like this day would never come. The process of getting this from my mind into my hands, to your hands, was not easy. The message of this book, holistic sexuality, is my passion. I believe researching and sharing is what I am called to do. This area is so personal, important, confusing, painful, joyful, and so misunderstood. I want to normalize the conversation of sex, so that people feel empowered within their sexuality and the choices they make regarding it.
I worked on it between work and study for two years and then this last year it has been out my hands (working with designers, editors, waiting on agents/publishers, etc.). I would wake up every morning with it on my mind. I really do believe that this message can help people. It’s my contribution to the sex conversation and to the church.
As I planned (with help from so many amazing friends) this launch party I really wanted it to be a celebration. It was easy to start this project, but finishing wasn’t. I know it will be worth it. I hope this can get into the hands of as many teenagers as possible, to help them understand how important sex is, that it’s okay to talk about, and they can make choices that align with their values.
So grateful for all the support so far!
Pre-orders went better than I could have ever expected. The book actually went #1 new release in “teen and sexuality” on Amazon - crazy!!
And this launch party was so much fun... we celebrated last week at Coma Gallery in Rushcutters Bay (Sydney), with many that contributed, as well as friends, family, and some very special youth that inspired the book. Thanks to Jackson Lister for being our DJ for the night, and Yoseph for taking these amazing photos.
We did it! Stay on top.
xx
